During the World Expo in Shanghai in October 2010 the Chinese were asking questions on a huge floor to ceiling scale.
Was on the upper deck of the Shanghai World Financial Center checking out the view when these two guys came hoisting up the side of the building. For scope this is a 101 story building with 91 elevators. That’s the Jin Mao tower behind them. Click the photo for larger view.
In the area of Tai Kang Lu you’ll find nice finds – restaurants, artists, boutiques etc…. There seems to be a lot of art shops that sell lithographs of the weird blend of Western brand and Chinese propaganda style posters. There result is this. Kind of funny actually.
Walking down Moganshan road in Shanghai is a trip. The neighborhood is full of art galleries and an up and coming art scene. In the middle of this street I ran into a lady hanging her family’s laundry on the clothesline in front of a portion of the wall all doctored up with Chinese grafitti which is unlike any other grafitti I’ve ever seen.
Walking through an area of Shanghai near Loshanguan Road there is a stretch of road with food vendor after food vendor all selling what they have that day. This particular guy was chock full of kebobs and the air is full of every flavor you can imagine. He posted his place’s health inspector certificate on the wall too – 99A all the way.
