Went down to the Atlanta Jazz Festival to check out the one and only Roy Ayers funk the park. This is one of the grooviest guys out there today and he’s been holding it down for decades. Check the link for a live track to one of his classics.

Always heard the Flaming Lips put on an over the top type of show so I went down with a few friends to Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park to check it out over the weekend. Here are some shots from that show.
Went to see the one and only Incognito in Atlanta on April 7th. This is hands down one of the best performing bands in the world today led since something like 30 years by Bluey. If you know Incognito’s style then you’re already in tune with great music - if you don’t know Incognito you should check them out. Killer grooves, lush vocals and harmonies, great horn section, and this line up featured a 21 year old percussion player from Portugal and new drummer from Rome, Italy who were both incredible. While living in Rome I decided to train it up to Perugia to check out Pat Metheny Group on their 1989 tour. My train got in early in the day so I headed over to the venue and and easily walked in. Pat was shooting hoops and I met his longtime sound engineer David Oakes who invited me down to the see the show a few days later also in Rome. This was a very cool period in music at this band’s point in time, and great to see it up close.
